The PROMIS project is based on software that works with internet technology. It is developed for the purpose of giving support to the management of an integrated system of quality, health and environment. It will not only deliver knowledge and information to help the decision-making process and tasks delegation, but it will also provide necessary instruments (for example the integrated components of a software application) and working tools. The objective of the project is clearly focused on SMEs and industrial services regarding the market demand. The project is market-oriented because the partners of the PROMIS consortium are also SMEs and intend to develop a market strategy in the European Union. In each member country a public organisation has been chosen for external collaboration, as well as pilot users to define the service of PROMIS and to allow demonstrations and validation of the software. The project was terminated 2 months ahead of schedule at an ad-hoc review held in Brussels on July 26th 2001.
